Shall I Compare Thee To Summer 2025

Shall I compare thee to this Summer’s day?
Thou art more stifling and more exhausting:
I thought your heat was bad enough in May,
But Summer’s lease hath been unrelenting;
Always too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And I wish that his gold complexion dimm'd;
And even when rain means heat should decline,
We suffer nature’s changing course untrimm'd;
But this eternal summer shall soon fade,
And lose power of this heat it emits;
And soon we may find comfort in the shade,
When time's hand once again on Autumn sits.
So though some Sun lovers may at this scoff,
Most will agree that this heat can fuck off!
