Texting

Everybody’s texting,
Everywhere I go,
No matter what the weather,
Rain or sun or snow,
There’s texting on the bus,
There’s texting on the train,
Control texts the pilot
How to fly the plane,
There's texting from my mates
To join them for a beer,
The taxi driver texts you
To say he’s just got near,
Teens are texting friends
The gossip they have heard,
Texting the teen next to them,
Saying not a word,
There’s texting in the staff room,
It’s all about the boss,
He’s texting the shop owner
That the shop has made a loss,
There’s texting at the checkout,
It’s by the girl cashier,
The customers are texting,
“The service’s rubbish here”,
There’s texting in the library,
I can hear the buttons pressing,
The librarian must be texting
He finds his job depressing,
There’s texting on street corners
From ladies of the night,
Texting their pimp to protect
Them from a prossy fight,
There’s texting down dark alleys
From a jittery lad,
Asking for how much costs
A two point five ounce bag,
There’s texting from the dentist
About your root canal,
He’s texted you to advise you
To arrange to bring a pal,
There’s texting from my mam,
Texting from my dad,
My brother has just texted me
About the poo he’s had,
There’s texting everywhere,
It’s everywhere I look
And when they’re not texting
They’re on bloody Facebook!
